Location
We will be convening at the Crowne Plaza North York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, situated on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, and now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Theme
The conference theme, Equity in Action, invites current perspectives on three key elements of 2SLGBTQ+ health: practice, research and policy. We welcome proposals from health and social service professionals, organizations, policymakers and researchers.
We are eager to receive proposals that address diversity, inclusivity and intersectionality within 2SLGBTQ+ communities. We seek proposals that will increase practitioners’ competencies and will provide actionable strategies to produce better health outcomes for 2SLGBTQ+ clients. We especially encourage submissions regarding equity-deserving groups within the 2SLGBTQ+ communities, such as Indigenous, racialized, people living in poverty, older adults, neurodivergent people, rural populations, etc.  We want to hear from those who practice with courage, curiosity, commitment and compassion, and those who dream of a better future for 2SLGBTQ+ health. Specifically:
Practice encompasses clinical practice, health programming, health promotion initiatives and community-based interventions to improve health outcomes.
Research includes academic or community-based research studies, needs assessments and evaluation findings.
Policy involves developments in policy or policy advocacy that impact 2SLGBTQ+ health, whether at a governmental or organizational level.
